Freezin’ for a Reason

January 1, 2026 at 12:30 Registration – Plunge Starts at 1:00 PM.  (Snow Date, TBD)

Location:  Brunswick Family Campground

Charity Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Frederick County Special Olympics, The Brunswick Food Bank, and BEACON.  You choose how your donation is allocated.  Online Donations strongly recommended to minimize contact – Scroll to the Online Donation button and instructions.   Take the plunge yourself or sponsor someone else to do it for you!  Either way, start the New Year on the right foot by helping others in need.

Once January 1, 2025 comes the fun begins!  Wear a silly costume!   Create a matching theme for your team.    Changing area and chemical toilet provided.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  All participants must wear water shoes, sneakers, or boots in the river.

How to Register:

  1. Contact Lee Zumbach via email at zum50@hotmail.com or call 301-834-8045 to register for Freezin’ for a Reason.
  2. If you Register by December 10, 2024 you will be guaranteed a t-shirt if you have a minimum of  $35  in sponsorship donations on the day of event.  Please indicate your T-shirt size in your registration application.    
  3.  T-shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis to those who register on the day of the plunge.

DONATIONS:  All Donations Must Be Paid on January 1, 2025.  Donations may be made either online or via check.  Recurring donations to BARC for activities made also be made via the donate button.
