Location: Brunswick Family Campground
Charity Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Frederick County Special Olympics, The Brunswick Food Bank, and BEACON. You choose how your donation is allocated. Online Donations strongly recommended to minimize contact – Scroll to the Online Donation button and instructions. Take the plunge yourself or sponsor someone else to do it for you! Either way, start the New Year on the right foot by helping others in need.
Covid Protocols: Masks Required. Participants should arrive dressed and ready to go into the river. Cars will be met at the gates of Brunswick Family Campground and given an entrance number and event procedure rules. You may turn in your pledge sheets and donations from your car. All persons are expected to wear a face mask, including when in the river. Only immediate family members of the persons going into the river will be allowed at the boat ramp as spectators and support. Groups are limited to 6 persons. Once a group has finished, they must leave before the next person or group is allowed to take part.
We are planning to stream the event on Face Book Live via the BARC Facebook page for friends may watch from the safety of their homes.
This year there will be no 50/50 or gathering before or after the event. A changing tent will be provided for use after the plunge. Participants may pick up a snack and drink and then leave the campground.
